Manager development for a scaled insurance company
Athora is a 3000+ employee PE-backed insurance company, aiming to be the best provider of life guaranteed products in Europe. Athora’s team has experienced significant change in a limited time, resulting from the rapid sequence of acquisitions from 2018 to 2020, developing from 400 FTEs in 4 countries to ~3,000 FTEs in 6 countries, from 400k to ~3m customers, and from ~€10bn AuM to ~€70bn AuM.
We supported Athora with developing a new set of values as well as designing and delivering manager and leader development programs to support the “Becoming Athora” transformation agenda. The manager and leader development programs involved cohorts of approximately 12 leaders participating in 3 blocks of development over 3 months. Topics included leading change, emotional intelligence, providing feedback and creating environments of psychological safety.
Our work is ongoing but the company has made significant progress towards having a unified, integrated culture that supports its continued growth strategy.
